At Bayfield Dental we encourage our patients to have regular dental checkups to maintain good looking and functional teeth for life.
Check up and clean appointment
- At this appointment one of our dentists will examine your teeth and their surrounding structures.
- A treatment plan will be formulated for you if any treatment is required.
- Examination X-Rays may be recommended at this appointment as decay can be missed if X-Rays are not taken.
- A scale and clean will also be recommended. This is to remove the hardened build up (calculus) present on your teeth that cannot be removed with your toothbrush.
- At Bayfield Dental we recommend 6-12 monthly check-ups and cleans for all our patients as a preventative measure against dental disease.

Preventative dental care involves the early diagnosis and treatment of dental disease that will cause problems in the future. Early diagnosis results in more conservative treatments that can save you both time and money. The most effective preventative measure that you can take is having regular dental check-ups. Preventative dental care is also about providing you with the tools and knowledge you need to best care for your mouth at home. Patient education and motivation is important to us at Bayfield Dental and we will create a preventative plan to suit your individual needs.
